The purchase price for an operational photovoltaic system depends primarily on the output, the type of system modules and the required material and installation costs. Operating and maintenance costs are so low that they can be put on the back burner when it comes to considerations.

Industrial and commercial electricity costs about CHF 0.16 per kWh, CHF 0.05 for electricity and another CHF 0.11 for fixed commercial charges and fees. The final cost of solar electricity, however, is between CHF 0.5 and 0.10 per kWh, depending on the solar panel system.

Subsidies for large solar panel systems

The Swiss federal government and the cantons are fundamentally interested in promoting the production of renewable energies. Depending on the size of the system, subsidies are available that reimburse up to 25 % of the investment costs.

Financing through contracting

With contracting, you can get cheap solar power from your own roof without having to invest upfront. Helion acts as a contractor and sells you solar power at a contractually fixed price. In addition, you will receive financial compensation for the use of your roof space during the entire term of the contract. For large roof areas, contracting is a very attractive economic solution.

Economic reasons for installing a solar panel system

  • 1. Stable electricity price

    As a company, you secure a stable electricity price in the longer term and save part of your operating costs in the process. In addition, the electricity tariff has to be renegotiated with the electricity company every two to five years.

  • 2. High level of self-consumption

    The solar system produces most of its electricity during the day. In the business customer sector, this can usually be consumed straight away for five to seven days of the week. At the weekend, the electricity produced can be sold to the grid.

  • 3. Breaking power peaks

    Where electricity is produced, there are often expensive peaks in consumption. The use of a solar panel system in combination with an electricity storage system helps to avoid expensive power peaks and save costs.

  • 4. Trustworthy calculation

    For large customers, a load profile analysis is carried out to establish the system dimensions (optimised self-consumption). This means Helion analyses the profile and calculates the optimal dimension of the system.
