Essentially, a solar system generates electricity when the sun shines. This means your photovoltaic system generates the most electricity at midday, i.e. exactly when the least energy is consumed.
Without electricity storage, a large part of this produced solar energy must be fed into the grid at unfavourable prices. Due to the low financial compensation received for the energy fed into the grid, it is a good idea to use as much of the power generated yourself as possible.
